Description: Our group was initiated 9
years ago. We are a supportive community of NVC firends. We
coach each other in respect to understanding &
integrating NVC (compassionate communication) skills into
our daily lives.
Our group members often use nvc skills in their
relationships, families, negotiations, businesses, schools,
and community groups.
Note that we are an NVC practice group. The group is not
intended for therapy.
A sampling of our NVC practice sessions :
1. An interactive study of Marshall Rosenberg's book, Lucy
Leu's companion manual, dvds & role plays
2. Experiential NVC learning processes
3. Exploring our awareness of feelings and needs that
manifest desirable & undesired behaviors
4. Requests versus demands and expectations
5. Identifying blocks to empathy (i.e blaming, shaming,
judging, analyzing, educating, interpreting, labeling,
projecting, intellectualizing )
6. Practicing compassionate listening and responding
7. Taming our inner critic with self-empathy
8. Developing new strategies to meet unmet needs
9. Listening with giraffe and jackal ears
10. Identifying and expressing the wants, visions,
aspirations, values, desires, longings, hopes, dreams and
needs within ourselves and others .
11. Understanding our antiquated triggers that generate
jackal responses and often unsatisfying results.
Member agreements: a strong intention to learn and practice
and skills, attend weekly meetings, read “nonviolent
communication-a language of life” by Marshall
Rosenberg and the “Nonviolent Communication Companion
Workbook” by lucy leu, before attending our group.

Description: We are
seeking individuals who are resolved in their desire
for lifestyle changes & permanent weight loss and who
are no more than 40 lbs overweight and have physician's
approval to lose weight. People who are committed to
regularly attend; share in the minor costs for
supplies (photocopying, etc.); purchase &
read the book by Marshall Rosenberg, "Nonviolent
Communication--A Language of Life," and have the desire to
learn and practice NVC skills.

fun. REPEAT introductory class at no charge.

years, has participated in over 200 hours of NVC training,

also licensed as a Marriage/Family Therapist and
Educational Psychologist
